By far my favorite aspect of TLOU2 is the atmosphere and tone of the game. Just ND's depiction of the world gone to shit due to a zombie outbreak just feels so gritty and real to me. I've seen a lot of zombie movies and played a lot of games, but Naughty Dog really nailed the sense of overwhelming hopelessness and despair when living in a world like that. The quiet moments always have a sense of tension because you don't really know what's waiting for you around the corner. Even the levels that take place in broad daylight maintain a feeling of slight uncomfort because you feel like you're wandering in a place where you don't belong. Everything is abandoned and on your first playthrough you never really know what's coming next. Seattle felt truly unpredictable a lot of the time. I hope more zombie games handle environments like this one, it's masterful.
