Abdullah took a quick draft from the water skin at his side, wanting his throat wetted for the upcoming task. He could smell the salty tinge in the air, a telling sign of being close to the ocean, or in Abdullah's case on it. Under the auspice of being a trading mission along the East African coast, the ship had set sail, making minor stops in the British East African Protectorate, before now hitting their final, and for Abdullah most important, stop, Dar-es-Salaam, the capital of German East Africa. A few hours later, the ship had made port, with the traders aboard the ship going about selling their wares, seeking to make a tidy profit before returning home and beginning the cycle again. Abdullah however, had a separate goal mission in this city, and he quickly made his way to the administrative section of the city.
As he approached the governors villa, Abdullah quickly went over his English lessons from his time in the British Somaliland colony, while he may curse those westerners for forcing him to learn their damned tongue, he would at least put it to use. Soon after being approached by one of the guards, Abdullah held up a paper, bearing the seal of the Sultan of Geledi and said in as best English as he could manage "I wish to be speaking to the Governor please."
