I would just like to revisit the concern if players chipping on the green. My greenskeeper is getting a bit pissed repairing these marks on the green.
It was argued that on the PGA Tour it is done but with a frown. If you have a 100 plus putt uphill that’s understandable. If you have a 49 foot putt with break it’s not.
I am not policing this. I’m just asking for the ethics of The Society to please resist the urge to chip on the green. I’ve 3 putted many a hole because of pin placement or being on the wrong side with massive break.
