My apologies if this has been asked and answered (lol you all are much better than I am at this) According to Wikipedia, the real Duke of Buckingham who was active in the 1880s was born in 1823, becoming the current duke after his father died in 1861. Wouldn't this make him at least 60 in the show's time frame for the recent "duke" episodes?

The actor playing him is 34 years old which seems a more likely age range for this character.

It's weird for the writers to make such a big exception when they surely could have found another Duke from that time period in the correct age range unless perhaps he's not really the real duke?

Anyone have more insight on this than I do? Thanks!
