Survival was originally the 1.4 update that was planned for release in September, but because of the state of the game at the time, Massive had to delay Survival and put forth a free update to improve the game. That free update released on October. Now Survival is the 1.5 update that will be releasing soon after the PTS ends. The reason many of you are unhappy with Survival is probably because Massive was already developing the DLC shortly after update 1.3 released, hence why the two are so similar. Remember that this is just the PTS, so give them feedback in a civil manner. I'm almost certain that the final product will be better than the PTS just as they did with update 1.4 after that PTS
