I genuinely think a Sandinista which is only 30 tracks long, 5 tracks on 6 sides, would be a masterpiece. Itās still a triple album, just slightly shorter.
Iād get rid of the last 5 tracks (āShepherdās Delightā, āCareer Opportunitiesā, āVersion Pardnerā, āSilicone On Sapphireā, āLiving In Fameā) and āMensforth Hillā. I feel they add nothing to the album. Theyāre just dub/backwards versions of songs, and one is kids singing. Having said that, Iād keep āOne More Dubā, as I think that works, and it doesnāt hurt to have one dub version.
Iād keep the track listing as it is, just without those 6 songs.
Iāve made this post cuz I genuinely love this album. But the ending is so anticlimactic for such a long album. So it does need trimming, but without losing being a triple album. I see people saying about it being a single or double LP, which I just donāt feel like is in the spirit of the album. So Iād like to keep it a triple, but trim it slightly.
Also, I think people would view the album a lot more favourably without those 6 tracks. I feel like it would be viewed as almost as good as London Calling and be a masterpiece.
What do you guys think?
