Even though I would expect that most people who discover the button will press it before wondering what it is, and even though that easily explains why the timer is still being reset after such short intervals, it seems way too regular after all these days ... it still hasn't gone below 35 seconds, and by now I'm thinking it is programmed to reset at random intervals between 60 and 35 seconds, and maybe that interval will be gradually increased to allow for lower and lower button push times over the coming days/weeks.
