Let me just start by saying Iâm a huge boondocks fan. I started watching the show since day 1 in high school. It was so funny but also so deep, I always interpreted it as Aaron Mcgruder wanting to let people know how he feels about his community. The R kelly episode, the MLK episode. The âhidden messageâ always hit home with me due to my upbringings in Brooklyn as a kid.
WITH THAT BEING SAID
A clip pulled up on my YouTube feed called âthe boondocks predicted Popeyesâ I already knew what it would be about so I clicked on it, watched the clip and made a comment in the comments section. I said âthey didnât really predict the Popeyes incident as much as they predicted ignorance in the black communityâ I think fighting over fried chicken is ignorant just like I think having a club at a church in MLKs honer is ignorant but like I said earlier itâs open to interpretation. Someone replied to my comment and basically told me since Iâm not black I shouldnât be making comments on other races communities.
This is the link to the video, what do you guys think? Am I in the wrong for my comment? Is it ok to speak on others communityâs even if your not in the community?
