Perhaps an unpopular opinion for some or you may have strong reactions to:
Was anyone else feeling incredibly disappointed and legitimately frustrated by the upstaging of Roxanne Gay? Maybe it is the intersectionality piece and truly taking into account the history of white women upstaging and taking up space from black women who are some of the most marginalized sociopolitically. But that whole thing pisssssed me off. I think I’ve been thinking really critically about that scene. One, I just wasn’t impressed nor happy with this really lousy love confession in the middle of Alice’s love show (so cheesy and I didn’t find it endearing at all) but ALSO They fucking invited Roxanne Gay on the show (alices show I mean) and to what?? Be upstaged ? And not even get time to share their wise wisdom on “Bad queers” like damn. I’m still kind of upset.
