So I wanted to save my thoughts and opinions on the album until after I had a few good chances to listen to it all the way through. I’ve listened 4 times now, so I think I can confidently give my overall feelings towards the album.
This is one of the most interesting pieces of music I have ever heard. It’s also the best. For me, this is the best album I have ever heard period. I have listened to quite a lot of music throughout my 17 years of being alive. A lot of it I listen to for fun, while another lot of it I find very profound and very thought-provoking. This album fits into both categories. It speaks to every part of me as a person in one way or another. Every song just has a way of making me feel personally addressed. Yes, even the instrumental tracks I feel addressed by. It’s a weird feeling to try to describe, but this album just feels right.
I started listening to The 1975 shortly after ABIIOR released. At the time, I only listened to a few songs off that album and that was it. It wasn’t until a bit later that I listened to the rest of their discography. After that, I knew that they would be my definitive favorite band of all time. The 1975 has truly become the soundtrack to my life. They have helped me through so many things in the span of such a short time. I listened to them throughout my first relationship, I listened to them when that relationship ended, I listened to them while driving around and smoking weed with friends. They just fit for everything.
When I first heard that Notes On A Conditional Form would be a very different album from the band’s first three, it made me somewhat nervous. I was scared that they would stray too far from what I had discovered them as. A band that has a song for everything. But, when I listened to the album for the first time, it immediately took all of those worries away. This album is perfect in every way for me. It is truly the best compilation of songs I have ever heard, and I will continue to listen to it for as long as I am alive.
I hope you guys can discuss your thoughts for this album as well. I’d be happy to join in any conversation about how you feel. Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying the album.
