Not to be insensitive to other fears but I genuinely feel like the fear of death is one of THE WORST fears to have.
Post Body

Because, ultimately the fear happens. For people afraid of spiders...they know to stay away from them. Or for me I also have a huge fear of class presentations but I know Iā€™ll never have to do another one because Iā€™ll just accept a zero for it or get exempt through my school and therapist. šŸ˜‚ Where as thanatophobia unfortunately you realize itā€™s unavoidable. I also never EVER EVER EVER want to give this fear to anyone. I feel like once you really, and I mean really, acknowledge it and realize ā€˜uh wait that happens to everyone...even me?ā€™ You canā€™t un think it

Similar to seasonal depression my thanatophobia usually ā€œflares upā€ in the winter months. However, I know that Iā€™m here now. And right now I need to live life. Thatā€™s the point of life. To live it to the best of your ability. Iā€™m religious but open minded and I think that thereā€™s a lot going on in the universe that we canā€™t explain. I donā€™t believe in coincidences and thereā€™s no doubt in my mind that we were created by someone or something. (Again my opinion ;) )

I feel like if I can slowly fight this phobia, anyone can. I donā€™t want to drag this on much longer but it got really bad, for a while. Like having panic attacks and convincing myself I was having a heart attack even though Iā€™m 19 šŸ˜‚.

Fortunately, I was and still am surrounded by people who love me and they have had my back. For those of you who are going into the colder seasons (like myself). Hereā€™s some extra reminders to try to push through when the cold, dreary, and gloomy weather starts to put you down.

Bundle up!! Try to get heavier blankets to help you sleep at night. Weighted blankets are awesome. Fuzzy socks, gloves, scarves and all that to keep ya toasty. Treat yourself if you can and get some hot chocolate packets, and marshmallows at the store. Donā€™t forget soups and just any other warm beverages or foods.

If you start to feel alone, just know that thereā€™s always a friend or loved one thatā€™s just a text or call away! Iā€™m here too and thereā€™s lots of wonderful people on this subreddit as well šŸ¤—
