TF2 crashes after joining server

Any fixes? I reinstalled but it still doesn't work. When I launch TF2, the main menu is pitch black for 2 seconds then comes back again. When i join a server (as soon as the loading reaches 'Sending client info' and the loading bar is filled) it just crashes and exits the game
Help?
