Hi Mods
First, thank you for your interest in participating in this beta! We’re excited to finally launch Mod Insights to beta and get your feedback.
1. Access instructions
To access this functionality, please insert your subreddit name in this URL https://www.reddit.com/mod/<insert-subreddit-name>/insights/growth and copy it into your browser. We will also send your subreddit a modmail with the same instructions as an additional follow-up.
2. Beta quirks
As part of this beta, there will be certain quirks with the functionality and I just wanted to set some expectations ahead of time:
- Some of the charts may only contain 90 days of data (e.g. Post/Comment Submission)
- When selecting for ‘Last 24 Hours’ of data, there is a bit of a lag in this data (e.g. it could take up to 6 hours for recent actions to show up)
- There is no logging out functionality within these pages; you will have to do so outside of mod insights (but who logs out anyways?)
- There will be some visual quirks here and there (e.g. spacing, text or colors may be a little off)
Please bear with us as we continue to tinker on this feature throughout this pilot program. That said, please do call out every and any issue you find! We’d love all the feedback we can get.
3. Questions for feedback
Third, here are several questions we would love your thoughts on as you use this over the coming weeks:
- What comes to mind when you think about community growth, community health, and team health?
- How, if at all, does what you see in Mod Insights match that understanding?
- What questions are you hoping to answer with regards to growth, community health, and team health? How, if at all, does mod insights help you answer those questions?
- If it doesn’t, what data do you find is missing? What would you want to change?
- As you go through this data, what do you find confusing? After you see this data, what are the next steps you take?
4. How we plan to use the feedback
Finally, here’s some information on how we plan to incorporate this feedback. Our goal will be to compile as much of the feedback as we can from August - September, synthesize them into themes, and prioritize the top pain points to address in the upcoming months before we make this generally available to all moderators.
Thank you for your time and interest in this beta! We are very excited to get your thoughts and feedback! Feel free to say hi and introduce yourself in the comments below!
