I've owned 2 Model S's and current have a Model 3, accumulating over 200k miles in a Tesla. I'm a huge fan, and I'm definitely a contender for the "most time spent in Autopilot" award.
However, I've noticed that progress on autopilot seems to have slowed (understatement, but again, I'm a fan).
My 2015 P85D had AP features that my current Model 3 does not. There's a nonzero chance of FSD never being a thing in my current Model 3.
If this happens, what is the financial obligation to Tesla? Refund the FSD fee? Buy back the car? What about everyone else who purchased a car on the assumption that it would one day be self driving? What if they make it through an entire 3 year lease without the feature?
Does anyone smarter then me have any insights? Would this be a minor financial obligation, or a company-threatening hiccup?
