At my interview, I was asked by my now manager if I had any holiday booked so I told him the 1st week of June. So when I see my shifts at the induction day (23rd May), I request the relevant shifts off. A few days ago I sent my manager a text asking him if he could look at my holiday request and politely reminded him that it was an already booked holiday that I told him about. No reply, and the requests are still pending. I've sent him another text this morning and tonight at my shift (last shift before holiday) I will try and find him in person. I don't know if he will be working though.
I mentioned it to a colleague and he just said to take the holiday anyway. I mean that is what I will end up doing but I don't want the shift leaders expecting me in. I guess I can try and speak to the shift leaders tonight to warn them of the situation.
Does this kind of thing often happen?!
