I wish I had done a moss stitch...

Ugh. This was my first blanket and my first crochet project ever. I was taught the back loop single stitch so that's what I went with and now after seeing all these blankets, I'd wish I had done a moss stitch. Is it insane to start over? Should I just have this be my first trial and then give it a good go next year?
