I haven't watched a single episode of Fargo, but have been somewhat tempted to because of the sheer amount of people saying it's amazing. That said though, I was under the impression that it was basically about low level mob activities in South Dakota, which sounds similar in theme to something like the sopranos, which I didn't care for. So because of this I've been avoiding actually watching the show.

Cut to today where I'm seeing people talk about UFO's and the like in the show, and my love for Sci fi is suddenly piqued. But I can't figure out exactly what this show is trying to be, or what it's about. Is it a crime drama set in the 70's? Is it a crime drama version of lost? What is this show exactly?
