I’m looking to get my first scope but I don’t really know where to begin. I wanna be able to see the planets in the solar system (ik they’re not gonna be as big as Hubble pics), I’d like to see the craters on the moon, comets, stars, anything I can see out there. I don’t have much money tho, I’m making a cross continent move in a couple months so I can only spend so much. I need something low maintenance, but worth the money, if it’s even possible to get something like that. Idc if I have to buy the tripod 1 place & the scope another place, I just need something worth it. I’ve seen some people built their own scopes on here too, I don’t know anything about building a scope but I’m really good with my hands & I own a shit ton of tools, so if there’s a way for me to build my own, please point me in that direction. Any suggestions would be great. My budget is around $200-$250, somewhat flexible too but I can’t afford to just spend spend spend right now. Thanks in advance
Edit: I forgot to mention this, i currently live in the north east of America, there’s a lot of light pollution here, in 4 months I’m moving to Alaska, where’s there virtually no light pollution but there is the northern lights, I don’t know if that affects anything. The problem with Alaska is it’s hard to ship things there, so I do wanna get something worthwhile while I’m still in an area that has easy, cheap shipping.
