Is getting one worth it

I see some of my favourite guitarists like Kurt and Jonny Greenwood play them and i want one
I have problems though such as the single pickup, would that cause me any problems with being able to play a wide range of songs
Also i wouldn’t be able to afford the near 800 price tag of a Fender Telecaster and i was wondering if the Squire ones are any good
