Hey,
I'm new in Tel Aviv, from central Europe and I work in def. tech, mid twenties. I have been here for two weeks and I found it difficult to get in the city as solo guy. I have a possibility of staying here for at least six months but I'm dreading the possibility of having no casual friend group.
It's difficult to approach random Israelis, sometimes because of the language barrier and mostly i see people in groups where it's weird to jump on the "hey I'm guy who's not from here -- let's talk in English."
I thought about going to pub crawl - because socializing is mostly tied to alcohol in my country, but I'm also dreading the idea of spending time with "yohoo let's party - tourists".
I live in Holon, which as I quickly figured out is pretty disconnected from the nightlife or any kind of socializing opportunities. Also since its relatively far, dependent on traffic, I don't have the appetite to travel to the city every day.
I do like art, culture (gallery in Holon Is awesome), history, tech related things and different stuff. I'd love to mingle with locals - expants - but I just can't see any opportunities right now.
Let’s be friends
