Looking to learn - what’s the justification for the expansion of the West Bank settlements?

To be clear - I am pro-Israel and my stance is that Israel has the right to exist and defend itself. Please feel free to skim my post history if you want to confirm this.
One topic that has come up quite a bit is how Israel has been increasingly evicting Palestinians in the West Bank and expanding settlements against the Palestinian wishes.
I am looking to hear the Israeli side of this argument - what’s the justification for that?
