Post Body

I see posts about #trashtag and about people being kind to one another, but the more I look in subs like r/worldnews and just political subs the more it seems that we're just inheriting a world of political discourse and misery.

I don't know what to believe, because there's no such thing as an unbiased news source anymore. You can offer to forgive everyone's student loan debt and be called a dirty socialist, yet you can ask for slightly stricter immigration laws and be labeled a right-winged extremist.

The planet is dying because too many people profit off of shooting chemicals in the air, healthcare puts millions into debt, we can't even file taxes because people fucking pay politicians to keep us from simple programs that other countries have. Yet it'll be rare we have someone looking out for the people, because it seems that you won't know they're truly looking out for the success of the American people, and not corporate America. Rumors are spread and when in doubt, many blindly follow their own party.

And with first past the post, it seems no 3rd party will gain attention and attraction for a long time, people will just flip flop from the GOP to the Dems, because voting for a 3rd party is treated as a wasted vote. There are huge debates on whether people should even have rights in certain countries, and it's heartbreaking to know that the world is driven by power, wealth, and politics.

And yeah, you could brush this off by saying that "It's just how life is", but if all of this corruption and damage took place in a single country, that country would be seen as absolute anarchy.

It's up to us to fix this. I don't know how, but we're gonna have to figure it out before our country just collapses.
