So my best friend who I've known for years and who I thought shared things openly with me turns out to have been hiding things from me. A while back he got diagnosed with chronic depression, and started self harming. He stopped that eventually thankfully, but recently he started taking prescription drugs that he was getting from kids at his school. I know about this pretty early on, and I talked to him about it, and he said he was going to get off them. When I next talked to him about it he told me he had stopped taking them, and was just taking the ssris that his therapist prescribed, but it turns out he was lying. I talked to another friend of his and she said he's still taking shit, and he's sinking deeper into depression and isn't doing shit to help himself. He used to be super against that kind of drugs too, and now he is using them.
I don't know what to do. I think I'm going to try and stage an intervention with the friend who told me. Do research and stuff to convince him. I don't know what else to do. He talks all the time too about wanting to get better, but he seems to think it's just going to happen. He isn't trying.
