After 25 years together, I just had to comfort my mom while she went through the divorce papers that my dad filed. Life hits hard, man.
Post Body

I don’t even know why I’m making this tbh. All I could do was sit there and give her a hug and acknowledge what she was saying while she sobbed and said she doesn’t know why this happened, she doesn’t know what went wrong in the last 25 years, etc. I held it together until I got up to my room.

I never thought this would happen to my family.

Dad moved out earlier this year, but he attributed it to being really stressed out at work. They went to couples’ therapy since then. And now the other day he dropped this bomb.

Does anyone with experience in my shoes have advice for what to do? How to make my mom feel better? How to act when both of them are around? I don’t know what to do.

thanks
