Post Body

Aviations is a ridiculously underrated band and they deserve so much more praise than they've gotten up till now.

They're epic, heavy, sad, happy, and entirely unique. This band also manages to find a niche that no other band has managed to fill in my heart: Coziness. Something about their songs feel like a warm cup of hot chocolate on Christmas eve. I want to get tucked into bed and get washed away into a wonderful dream to their songs as a soundtrack. You may be discouraged seeing that some tracks are upwards of 10 minutes long, but every single time they manage to fill that time to the brim with key, tempo and genre switches. It feels like this section might drag for a bit too long... then BAM, acoustic interlude!

While having the usual metal band lineup, they also have a dedicated piano player who does solos every once in a while. They really managed to hit their stride on their most recent album, Luminaria. There's no song on it that I'd even consider skipping and it all flows so well as an entire experience. Every member of the band gives it their all, with insane technical skill across the board.

My absolute favorite picks from them are (in no particular order):

  1. Outliers 2. Coma 3. Safehouse 4. La Jolla 5. Captain No Beard

Seriously, give them a listen (either with Outliers or Coma), they deserve it. And who knows, you might come to love them as much as I do.

Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
