I’m pretty close to being “old” in this sub and felt like I never listened to this advice as a younger teen.
If you’re 13-16 this may not apply as much but definitely if you’re 17-19 it’s that time where your life will change a lot. You’ll graduate or have already graduated high-school and then the people you thought you were close to start to take their own paths.
I used to hang around with this dude who had all sorts of issues. He liked talking to younger (we were 17 they were like 13 or 14) girls, he had no work ethics he’s lie etc etc. I thought we were friends, we hung out a lot and you know, that’s what friends do.
Your circle shrinks and shrinks as your teenage years progress and eventually you’ll have to mature to decide who and what is right for yourself.
You may have some looser friends that need to go. It’s fine, they’re not really your friends anyway.
