so I want to get my friend a nintendo switch since he’s been talking about wanting to play pokemon and I know he’s not like the richest person so reasonably he’d have to wait till his birthday if anything but I want to get one for him but I dont know if he’d accept it and obviously I cant force someone to accept a gift even if I am being genuine and can afford to gift it

I’ve thought of some solutions but opinions would be nice ? I thought about reasoning it by either getting him the lite which is cheaper but I dont want to limit him to only hand held mode, I’ve considered shipping it to his house since that way he’s kinda forced to take it lol but I wouldnt want his mom to get upset thinking I pitied him and I’ve considered buying myself a new one and giving him the one I have now which is in practically great condition aside from the 1st gen switch shit battery life kinda like the lite I dont want to limit him to a used switch
