Potentially Corrupted Hard Drive- help

Post Body

Hello everyone,

I've recently bought myself a Lenovo Ideapad with a GTX 1650, 8Gb RAM, and a hard drive for storage. This is a super new PC, and I've had it since the end of last year.

When I got the pc, it didn't come installed with Windows so I attempted to install it myself. Unfortunately the PC died during the windows install, and I had to take it to a guy that told me he had to partition the hard drive into smaller partitions. Big disclaimer, I don't know much about pcs in general.

After that incident, the problems started. The computer often gets hung up and freezes even in programs such as whatsapp. In addition to that, it struggles to run smoothly and recently its gotten to the point where its almost unusable.

My question is the following: where are these problems coming from? Could it be that the hard drive is now no good, or could it be something more software related? And lastly, if anyone has any recommendations or possible fixes, please let me know. Thanks.
