Transferring files from an external hard drive

I know I posted about this yesterday but I need extra help. So I have an old hard drive that has all the files that I want and I want to open the files on this old hard drive onto my new PC I just bought. The problem is that this old hard drive has files saved from my old Mac, so obviously the file systems aren’t compatible. I bought a new external hard drive so that I could transfer the files from the old drive onto the new drive in the correct format, but idk how to do this. Any help?
