Opening up an external hard drive on windows

Hi, I’m trying to open up files that I saved onto an external hard drive that were saved from a Mac onto a Computer that runs Windows. The drive doesn’t show up in File Explorer and I don’t want to wipe the drive out in disk management. I understand that that process runs into issues since OS’s are basically like trying to read different languages, so how do I solve this problem?
