Webcam is very dark, unless in direct light

I was on discord with my webcam on a few minutes ago and then I turned it off. Once I tried turning it on again, it turned on, but the image was very very dark. I tried manually turning up brightness and it's not that. I've also tried driver re-installation and all that jazz.

P.S. I also tried using my phone light to illuminate my face, and it worked, but only when extremely close.
