How do I go about moving my OS to a new drive?

Post Body

Basically what the title says. The C drive my computer came with is incredibly small and keeps causing problems when something inevitably causes it to become too full and my entire computer to lag. I'm looking to put my OS and everything else on my C drive onto a new SSD that is larger, but I have no idea where to even start once I've purchased the SSD. I know how to format a new SSD and the like, but considering how important an OS is I'm afraid to mess something up and brick my computer, and online articles all seem to recommend downloading 500 different programs. What would be the best way to go about handling this?
