Hi,
I think my BIOS may be causing the Windows Update from 7 to 10 to fail. I tried a few other things like unplugging my controller, choosing to keep only personal files instead of programs as well,
I tried two different update tools to do it (Media Creation Tool and Windows Update Assistant). The former simply said it failed, the latter gave this error code: 0x80004005
My motherboard is GA-970A-UD3P (rev. 1.0). The BIOS version is F1. But when I go to Gigabyte's website, I don't see a BIOS version to download from after Windows 10 was released: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-970A-UD3P-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
Can someone point me to the right file to download, or provide other suggestions that may be causing the update to fail? I know there is the Gigabyte @BIOS that says it can update it, but I have seen it almost universally recommended against.
Is it possible that it would work if I downloaded the Windows 10 upgrade ISO and mounted that instead?
