Macbook pro overheats and crashes once a week
Post Body

I have a Apple - MacBook Pro - 13" Display with Touch Bar - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Space Gray that I got two years ago and starting a couple months ago it has been having some overheating issues. I bought a laptop cooler when I first got my mac because I played games on it and it would sometimes feel like its overheating, however I stopped playing games on my mac around a year ago. Around once a week, no matter what I am doing, my mac fan will start going crazy like it is running at max power or something. Often times when this happens I am just in lecture taking notes or on chrome or on Spotify. It will heat up so much that my computer slows down significantly, so I restart my computer. However, when I click restart my computer, it just freezes completely, mouse and screen, and after a minute quickly turns off and when I turn it back on it gives me the like "Your computer has restarted because of a problem , click report if you want to report the problem". I bought a kit to open up the bottom of my mac to see if the fans were clogged with dust but they were not.

Another couple pieces of information is that I do not frequently turn my computer off, I usually just close the lid at night time and leave it charging overnight. Im a student so I use my mac pretty much everyday for classes. I have a lot of windows open , like atom, spotify, discord, and multiple chrome windows but I use the great suspender so it should be easier on the RAM.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on what could be wrong or if there are programs I can download to monitor/figure out why this is happening
