Laptop freezes when I use Photoshop

I’m not sure why this is happening. At various points when using Photoshop, my laptop just freezes up and becomes unresponsive. I’ve tried rolling back a few updates in photoshop to see if running an older version will help but it still happens. Anyone else experiencing this lately or have any suggestions what I can do to remedy this?

I use photoshop heavily for work and having to hard restart my laptop every 8 minutes has been less than ideal. I’ve experienced this also in After Effects as well, but in 8 hours of using AE it freezes twice, while using Photoshop for an hour it freezes 7-10 times.
