Hi All,
Looking at a strange issue - have some users on desktops (on-prem) that will need access to a file share that cannot go on azure file share or sharepoint [etc]. They login through AAD and I think they might prefer to stay that way due to small number of users.
Can you add AzureAD joined accounts to either domain file shares or local file shares?
Have seen a post that shows that you can add AAD accounts to local admin group but cannot seem to add them into the either the file share or a domain group (to add to the file share).
Using net localgorup <GroupName> "AZUREAD\<\
[email protected]
>" /add
all I get is an error saying user doesn't exist (which I expect as the users are never going to log into the server directly - so they won't be known to the server). Can't seem to find anything similar for a domain file share.
Any help appreciated even if it is just to say it cannot be done!
