Router/wifi extender help. Sometimes says 'Connected. No internet' on some devices while working on others

As the title says, i have a wifi extender (as router is too far away from study/living space to be useful) and sometimes my wife and I will attempt to connect to it for work or phone usage and mine will work and hers won't, or visa versa. Even though we've both connected to it before just fine.
Any ideas why this would happen?
It's a TP wifi extendeer that plugs into the wall socket.
It's Virgin Internet in the UK if that helps at all.
