So obviously everyone and their friend wants to make content on the internet. but everyone also wants to not be burning hot in the summer. So my problem is I have a VERY cheap setup that I've been rocking for quite some time now.
Neewer NW-800
Neewer NW-100 phantom power (bundled on amazon)
SYBA usb sound card
So with those I've been recording and having a decent time using noise reduction on audacity to remove any vague background noise/keyboard n mouse sounds
But now that it's summer it's AC season and I can basically say I could either have good mic quality or not be burning alive in my attic studio.
All that being said I want the "cheapest" solution that still let's me run my AC window unit (1800s house) without it literally sounding like I have a helicopter behind me... it's that bad right now.
Options I've seen on the internet with a bit of research:
Mic upgrade: AT2020 or YETI or a dynamic mic
or
audio interface: probably the M track solo (or Focusrite Scarlett if I could possibly get one for less than 100?)
If you have any ideas or questions let me know, I *could* break the bank (like 100% broken) for a SM7b but that seems like a dumb idea if I am operating in the hobby range.
Any suggestions would be amazing, budget opinions would be greatly appreciated
YES I have turned on a noise gate (that does literally nothing for when im talking) AND/OR noise suppression (Via OBS Studio) the AC is simply too "loud"
For random data, Using a (probably terrible) app I measure my ambient noise in my room without the AC as 28-30 db and it being about 40db with the AC on, and my talking anywhere from 55-70db with 70 being OMG WHTT JUST HAPPEN?! type of talking
Thanks, I hope I gave enough information
