My laptop is slow any idea why?

My specs are:
intel i5-7300hq 2.50Ghz 12 gb ram Nvidia Gtx 1060 hdd 1 tb with a lot of space still
Ran malwarebytes multiple times but it’s still slow. even when browsing to using softwares it’s slow. I’m getting an ssd because that might be the problem but I’m not sure. I can appreciate any thoughts on this
