Output jacks at the back of the pc give louder sounds than that of the top output jack

I use a headset and speakers, the headset is usually connected to the output jacks on top of my pc while my speakers are connected to the output jacks at the back of the pc.

when one day suddenly the jacks on the top of my pc suddenly gave off quieter output rather than the jacks at the back i tried switching and indeed noticed there was a difference in sound output i hope someone can help me with this
