So, I have a USB A to Micro B cable permanently plugged in my PC for controllers and other devices, routed neatly behind the desk so it doesn't get banged up. But after 2-3 months they stop working, no damage on the cable, windows just shows a message that "The USB device could not be recognized" even if I don't have anything plugged on the cable.
I've tested the cables on a different PC but still nothing. The second one was plugged in a different USB port but both of them on the 3.1 back ports. Could it be that my MOBO kills them? If that's so, how do I avoid it? Can I use the USB 2.0 ports for that? A USB Hub? Or that will end up stop working in a couple of months as well?
Specs: Win10/Kubuntu 18.04.5, MOBO: MSI B450 Gaming Plus
