Hi everyone, I have relatively new Alienware m15R2 laptop. Just about an hour ago, my right Shift key suddenly types a backslash whenever I press it. So whenever I try to capitalize something or type a question mark it looks like this:
\How can \I fix this problem\?
All other keys are working fine including the backslash key itself, caps lock, the left shift key, Fn key, etc. I don't have a numlock function (since there is no numerical keypad). I've restarted and the problem persists and adding/removing languages doesn't do anything, since hitting the right shift key even in chinese types a comma. External keyboards work normally.
edit: It turns out I cannot type exclamation points, at symbols, hastags, or any of the symbols in the number row.
I just uninstalled all the keyboard drivers in device manager and rebooted with no luck.
edit 2: If I hold the left shift key down and then press the right shift key it types "||||||". Also apparently I can type symbols now: \!@#$%^^&* wtf
