Hey all, I'm real inexperienced with tech stuff but I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my PC's new internal drive (using USB installation media) and ran into a snag. I've formatted the drive (a Samsung 860 EVO) for GPT and NTFS, but when I click the primary partition in Windows Setup I get the following error message:
We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup log files.
I've tried reformatting in Windows Setup, I've tried taking the drive out of the PC and reformatting it from my laptop, I've tried reformatting with diskpart commands (which only reformatted into MBR for some reason). Nothing seems to work for Windows to read the partition. The only other partition on the drive is MSR, which also won't allow Windows installation.
If this is relevant - my PC's mobo is an ASRock Z77 Extreme4.
Do I need to create a smaller partition within the drive? Any other fixes available? Thanks!
