Weeks ago, around 6/10-6/18 i had extreme packet loss issues, i assumed it was related to the complete internet outage i had the previous week (zero internet from 6/5-6/9)
i had to call spectrum tech support a dozen times, and had 5 techs come out to work on it over the week. nothing helped the issue. then on 6/18 after i had called a supervisor (who said nothing more can be done) the problem mystically went away within the hour. had no issues since. starting yesterday around 5pm the same issue came back and i again dont know what caused it.
there will be zero packet loss while just idling, listening to music etc, but as soon as you try to load anything theres a good chance the packets drop.
1)loading youtube videos (netflix/hulu etc also)
2)when a new song on spotify loads in
3)even just clicking some reddit links
4)mainly games, every few actions gets dropped, playing games like league of legends are esdsentially unplayable with this occuring
however when a tech comes in to do a packet test plugged in to their device it shows 0% since theres nothing really going on so they claim theres nothing wrong.
it was a hot day and the ac was working over time and my apartment has a really shitty power circuit, literally just the computer stuff, an ac and a box fan turned on and the fuse popped.
Now my question, is there any correlation to power going out and causing issues to the modem? theres a chance this all started with a power outage last month too, place is so shitty i pop the fuse every 2-4 weeks it seems in the summer.
ive reset the computer, reset the modem and router, tested it with wifi, tested other devices with and without the main pc plugged in, tested another tower, ive tested pc direct to modem bypassing the router, every case its the same.
ping plots show the packets are getting lost directly at the first hop,
is there anything else i can do, theres no other real ISP options in my area.
