Hello everyone. I’m brand new to PC building, and finished building my first one late last night. I turned it on to check if it worked, and it did. I was pretty proud of myself after a frustrating build, so I went to bed. This evening, I planned to hook up the monitor to it and get my PC set up. I turned the power switch to on, and clicked the power button. The PC ran fine for a solid minute. However, out of nowhere, it randomly shut off. I attempted to turn it back on, but it would not come back on. I spent the next four hours trying to get it to come back on. The only thing that happens when I press the power button is a small flicker of the graphics card fan, and some lights flickering in my basement. I’m super frustrated and starting to kick myself for not buying pre built. I will note that I turned the PC on on carpet. Can anyone help me? I’m desperate for anything. Here’s everything I have tried:

1) Switching ram slots, including only using one 2) Did a CMOS reset buy connecting the bridge with a screwdriver 3) tried to start the PC without the GPU 4) Jumped the power supply (it worked, so I know it’s not that) 5) Reinstalled the CPU case fan multiple times (yeah I know I shouldn’t do it, I didn’t apply even pressure so I had to redo it a couple of times) 6) Triple checked all the cables and hookups, and the front headers.

Here are my specs: -AMD RYZEN 5 3600 -GeForce 1650 -GIGABYTE B450M DS3H AM4 AMD B450 motherboard -Corsair 550W power supply -480GB of SSD -two 8GB sticks of ram

What’s most concerning to me is that the PC ran fine for a minute and just shut off. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you!!
