Dell G5 , windows 10
I really hope someone here can help. I tried Dell tech support yesterday and they weren't able to do anything. I purchased a brand new Dell G5 last November. It has had some minor issues but has been generally reliable. Yesterday I restarted it to install some updates and now it wont boot. I get the Dell Startup logo and a spinning wheel for about a minute, and then it restarts again.
I have tried a Bios Recovery and it said that everything was fine. I ran a diagnostics from the boot menu and that said that everything was fine. I tried to run a OS Repair/Recovery from he Support Assist program and that checked out too.
I talked to Tech support and they had me run a few of the same checks. They had me change the SATA mode to AHCI, that didn't do anything. Then they had me run a RTC reset, that threw up an error that said "Time of day not set - Please run SETUP program". At that point they said that their scope of support ended there and that i should contact their Paid Tech Support team.
This morning in a last ditch effort I am trying to use the SupportAssist OS Recovery tool to reinstall the OS, but every time I try to back up the data, the backup fails. It says "The external storage device does not contain enough space..." . I have a blank 4tb hard drive for less than 30 gigs of data.
