Internet keeps cutting out while using 2 routers.

So I have a 2 routers in my house, 1 upstairs 1 downstairs, so my dad and i each can use an ethernet cord. The 2 routers are conected via an outlet in the wall. My computer keeps randomly losing Internet and it is very frustrating. Any reason why it is doing this and a solution would be very much appreciated.
