Can't complete the Microsoft Security Essentials Upgrade Installation Wizard
Post Body

An orange alert in Microsoft Security Essentials started appearing in my system tray a few days ago indicating that "A new version of microsoft security essentials is available. You should upgrade now."

Full Error Message:

An error has prevented the Microsoft Security Essentials Upgrade Installation Wizard from continuing. Please restart your computer and try again. To learn more, click Get more help Error code:0x80070057

How to recreate:

Step 1: Open Microsoft Security Essentials
Step 2: Left click once on "upgrade now" button
Step 3: Left click once on "upgrade" in dialogue box

  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • 64 bit
  • Acer Aspire 1810TZ Genuine Intel (R) CPU U4100 @1.30Ghz, 4.00 GB RAM
  • "Install updates automatically" option for Windows Update has been enabled since I first got the netbook about 1 year ago

Thanks!

Edit: I've restarted the computer about 5 times since the error message first appeared, doesn't make a difference
