Dual monitors and docking station woes

Post Body

Hiya - we've got a bunch of laptops at work with docking stations. Some of them behave oddly when connected to dual monitors. They'll be fine for a while, but then something happens, and they crap out - monitors start reconnecting, desktop starts switching, video signal starts dropping, stuff like that.

I've yet to find a specific cause for this. Most of the time, it helps if you just reconnect or switch the display cables, but sometimes even that isn't enough.

I'm pretty sure the docking station is doing something odd, but I'm not sure if there's a permanent fix for it.

Maybe it's to do with our company running Windows 8.1?

At any rate, I thought I'd ask around in here, in case someone had specific experience with fixing woes like this. :)

Cheers!
