I'm a music student, trying to record an audition tape. Recently acquired some nice microphones and a mixer, but for the life of me, can't get them to record anything using my laptop. I got the Pyle PMXU43BT Bluetooth Streaming Studio Mixer. My laptop is an Inspiron 15 5000 Series (5559) with Windows 10 Pro. The mixer has a USB interface that connects to my laptop and an audio output that connects to my laptop through an audio cable. My laptop recognizes the mixer when I use either the USB interface or the audio cable, but when I try to record (using free WavePad by NCH software), I see waves on the track bar, but I don't get any sound when I play it back. Ideally, I want to record separate audio and video tracks, and manually sync them in Movie Maker or a similar program. I want to record the audio separately in order to facilitate my use of the sound mixer. Hopefully that's enough information to start!
